Weekend Sales!

Hope you all are having a great weekend. My parents came in for Hayden’s birthday, so ours is incredibly special. Looks v different than last year’s, though. (Take a peek HERE, but I need to go in and change a lot of old links, so please overlook for now). Today we remember that we get to walk freely on this land because of the brave that sacrificed for us. Today, we honor and never forget.

Not sure why today also became about sales. I always found that strange. But, if you are in the mood at some point, here are a few I found:

SHOES FOR KIDDOS. Pediped has all your shoes needs for the little ones! I love these for the healthy development for Hayden’s little feet. And when Huck was living with me, he LOVED them, too.

Holiday Feels and Sales

Life never seems to slow down on its own... at least not with young kids! So, it's up to us to take a moment wherever we can. Sometimes that moment might even be in the car when I'm alone for a second. Or first thing in the morning when I'm praying in bed before the day starts. Really gonna try to carve out more moments like this before the holidays. I'm learning it happens for me in the earlier, crisp part of the morning. Things still seem new, and still. The clean canvas of life ready to be painted for the day. I love fresh air in the early morning.

Now, on to the fun part..the fashion of it all. The perfect holiday sweater! 

I must sound like a broken record about my love of "fun" sleeves, "party" sleeves and the likes thereof. I'm a sucker. Now that it's chilly enough in LA to wear sweaters, I'm indulging. This sweater is so easy because it makes the whole outfit. The bright red is so festive, it's the centerpiece so to speak.

I paired it with my usual jeans and black boots (mine are last season, but the brand has the new version this year and they're on sale), but I think it'd look just as cute with sneakers, too. Or heels and dressier dark jeans at night. I'm wearing the same earrings over and over lately- these delicate hoops. Again, just letting the red be the focus.

And this grey tote has been going many places with me. It's actually a diaper bag doing double duty. My diaper bag/purse seems to often become one. This one from Petunia Pickle Bottom is easy to clean and chic and durable. Flowers not included;)

So Hayden is up with me and just finished his breakfast. We're on to the next part of the morning. And I'm seeing my roommates from college today for a charity benefit for Pepperdine. 

PS: THE QUICK UPDATE

I had to add this... the fun "party sleeve" shirt I loved this summer is on sale in red and black for $32. I think it'd be a great holiday top with jeans and a coat. And while I'm here, I adored this dress earlier in year (in this post) - and it's on sale for almost $50 in many colors... another great holiday dress I'll be wearing. For this price, another one might be in store! It comes in several color options.  And last, but not least--- the peacoat I wore HERE in this post is back in stock and on sale for $37! Last year, it sold out in most sizes and colors so quickly, I wanted to give a heads up. My First Christmas!

Sometimes I ask myself if it's silly to put Hayden in little "get-ups" like this in the photo above? (or like THIS one on SALE for under $20 I just ordered?) Am I too old to get excited about these little things? Then I look back at a picture and realize it was totally worth it! I will frame his "My First Christmas" onesie picture and have it out every year. He took these pictures right around his 6 month birthday. He was almost sitting up on his own. After looking at a few photos last night, I realized I wanted to share in case any of you all wanted to capture these same moments with the babies in your lives. This little gift under $25 is so adorable. It comes wrapped in a mason jar with a little party hat on top (see photo below). And my sweet mom sends him gifts all the time....he's having way too much fun with his rattle santa socks. It especially keeps him occupied when he's in his car seat and can kick his feet to hear the rattle sounds.

SUMMER WHITE! on sale!

Last weekend, we visited Travel Town in Los Angeles's Griffith Park. Huck is slightly obsessed with trains, so this was a perfect family outing. I dared to wear white, but lately I'm oxy cleaning daily, so I figured why not! And today I found out my shirt is on sale for $40! I actually had women stop and ask me where I got it. It's easy, classy and I love the flirty little touch of lace.  I'm wearing a small. It's fairly room-y.  I remember reading once that when in doubt, go monochromatic. So, I threw on skinny white jeans, (those are part of the #NSALE)  white converse and some fun chunky white earrings (can you believe they are $14?) and threw my hair in a messy bun (the messy part was courtesy of the long sleepless night).  And, I protected Hayden's little eyes with these polarized, non-slip glasses.  So hilarious and cute and necessary- and come in a ton of colors.
