You can't have a bad day in POLKA DOTS.

TRUTH. No bad days in polka dots. I think Anna Kendrick said this. I must agree. I wore this top last Saturday to Bloom Summit and it was a good day.

The summit, produced by @NewBloomMedia@beautymomme expert Saarah Samadani, kicked off the morning with a plethora of wellness tips and new products. I'm learning about tricks of the health trade. And you know I'll be sharing my favorites tips and products with you. There were so many new things to wrap my mind around, especially in weight management. With all the inner beauty talk and focus on wellness, it made me reflect on my "SMART" GOALS in this post. Am I accomplishing them? Well, some of them I am! And many I need to revisit and refocus.

Loved getting to visit with the ladies at the event, even for a moment. All of us have kids the same age (with the exception of the darling Vanessa Ray...you know her from BLUE BLOODS or PRETTY LITTLE LIARS but soap fans will remember AS THE WORLD TURNS!).

After the event, we headed to San Diego to meet my sister and the day got even better.

I felt very "bright and cherry" in my white sunnies, polka dots and blue pants. Was it too much? ha! Maybe, but whatever- I went with it. The converse grounded the outfit, right? This polka dot top really makes me smile. Love the tiny ruffle on the sleeve. If this one isn't the perfect one for you, here are other fun options. Just click on an image to go to the item at the store's site:

FYI: the blue pants linked are not the same ones I'm wearing. I'm wearing the ones I wore in this post at Hayden's first birthday! But, they sold out quickly. I enjoy a pop of color, so here are some other options of brands I wear:

Non-sequitur, but I asked in the last post about good book recommendations...? Just compiling a list. I'll share! Thanks to those that have dm'd or commented with their suggestions.

xoxo

CASUAL CHIC FRIDAY! From Day to Night

It's Friday! I wore this fun, bell sleeved hoodie a bit ago for meetings during the day (see the post here) , then ended up wearing the white top for a dressy-casual night out. So easy, comfortable and perfect for a spring nighttime look. Just add dressier pants and heels! The hoodie was just restocked in two colors and all sizes! But, this brand goes fast. For under $80, I'm kinda obsessed with the top, especially the sleeves. The bell shape and ruffle really add to the overall feel of the outfit.

I'm really into white right now, as you may have noticed, but this top also comes in grey! I'm wearing leggings from last season, but I found these moto-style pant leggings  that I'm ordering. That is actually the look I was hoping to go for with this hoodie for a chic/street style.

I can't find this exact purse from last year, but I like the brand a lot, so linked their newest style. However, this faux leather, less expensive cross body clutch (under $50) comes in three colors and feels amazing!

As I mentioned yesterday, we are in the middle of chaos! Packing, packing, packing. Thanks for some of the tips you left. I'm off to buy colored tape right now. Wish us luck! We're gonna need it.

FAMILY OUTING WITH SNOOPY...

In 2010, the Peanuts Comic Strip had their 60th Anniversary.  I had the pleasure of participating in the campaign and raising money for the Boys and Girls Club.** Last weekend, the latest edition to the Peanuts franchise premiered- THE PEANUTS MOVIE.  The Schulz family was kind enough to include me, my fiancé, Joel, and his son in all the festivities.

First of all, according to the three-year-old, the coolest part was meeting Snoopy.

Huck, joel and I meeting snoopy.

Huck, joel and I meeting snoopy.

The whole street was blocked for kid-friendly activities: food trucks, games and crafts and photos booths. Guests arrived through a huge blow up Snoopy house to set the mood of walking into PEANUTS on set. Snoopy greeted us before we walked the red carpet in front of the Peanuts characters.  Next, we went on to play football (just like the characters in the movie), ski-ball, walk through real snow in a winter wonderland, make our own cookies, visit the candy bar, pick out McDonald's toys with the characters from the movie (Lucy's toy actually talks!), meet some of the people involved with the film (Meghan Trainor sings the theme song of the film and arrived decked out in a custom Peanuts themed dress) all before we retired to the theatre to take our seats- more snacks in hand. Huck hollered and laughed through the whole movie, despite the fact it seemed a little long for children in my opinion, he certainly didn't think so. Thank you to everyone involved that made it such a success.

Naturally, after a fun-filled day like this, Huck is even more in love with Charlie, Snoopy and friends (and I might be a bit, too). Hey, Charlie is just like the rest of us- we all want to succeed and be liked for who we really are inside... and Chuck does a pretty good job of showing us what hard work and practice can get you, as well as just being your authentic self. #goodmessage
